FACs ATTENDING THE 2014 FAC REUNION - Here's a rare opportunity to get your oral history recorded.

Martin S. Madert of the Witness to War Foundation plans to attend our 2014 FAC Reunion in Fort Walton Beach (22-26 Oct 2014). He would like to interview as many willing FACs as possible. Each interviewee will receive three DVD copies of their interview as a keepsake.

If you are interested in being interviewed, please call Martin Madert at 770-628-0024 (cell phone) or email martin@witnesstowar.org to schedule an appointment. The interview generally lasts one and a half hours and will cover as much of your military career as time will allow. The more interest there is, the longer we will able to stay! We hope to hear from you soon!

The Witness to War Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, based in Atlanta, GA that is dedicated to preserving the oral history of combat veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam by conducting free video interviews that honor your service, preserve your story, and help to educate the public as to the sacrifices made by our armed forces over the past century. Every veteran that is interviewed receives 3 free DVD copies of their interview that they can share with family and friends in addition to having a copy donated to the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project, which holds over 65,000 oral histories. In our effort to educate the public, we maintain a website which holds over 2,500 video clips of veterans telling their stories in their own words which everyone is free to browse with no advertisements or registration.

Please review the Reunion Schedule of Events so you can find a suitable time to be interviewed and then contact Martin S. Madert.

After the reunion in San Antonio I realized that we had not come away from the Memorial service without anything but our memories.  So after returning home I took some time to put together my short tribute to all those who have gone before us.

Please accept my invitation to visit the San Antonio logo above where we lit six candles.  The opening background music is "Taps", when this is finished you might scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see six icons (representing the six candles that were lit during the ceremony) if you were to "click on" either the Ravens or the 23rd you will hear additional music. ( Play them one at a time).  Bob Gorman, Jake 44.
